I did have an issue here with using the coupons on the depends. The first three coupons scanned fine, but the fourth $3 off coupon would not scan. The cashier told me she couldn't use it. I was confused why it wasn't working, and it turns out the first three were not adjusted down to $2.49 like they should've been. I asked her if they had a copy of the coupon policy handy so we could check, but she said no. So, the manager came over (also said he didn't have a copy of the policy) and changed the fourth one to $1 off, making the total discount $10, which was close enough to the $9.96 total for the four items. Fine with me, just annoying that the manager told me, "I'm not supposed to do this." Ugh, it's not worth the hassle for this, but I was already there.

So last time I went to Walmart, I tried to use this same $8/2 CoverGirl coupon but had issues. This time, I went armed with a printout of the coupon policy, just in case. I went to a different cashier who was skeptical but allowed the overages. I made sure to buy another item in addition to the ones above, just to absorb all that overage so the total didn't come out negative, with them owing me change.

In the past, I've had problems trying to price match at this store, actually with this same cashier. I tried to price match without having the actual ad, and they told me they couldn't just take my word for it; they had to see the actual ad. Since then, I printed out a copy of the price matching policy and discovered that the policy states you don't even need to show them a copy of the ad! This time, I brought a copy of the CVS ad just in case, to get the Raisin Bran. Even with this, the cashier gave me a hard time and called the manager over.

Now the rant:

My main issue with Walmart is that their cashiers really have no idea what the store's policies are. I can understand them not willing to just trust a customer that tells them what the policy is so they should get the item for free. However, that's when they should be pulling out a copy of the policy to check, or calling over the manager who actually knows what's going on. They've clearly either not been trained on these policies or just choose to ignore them.

My other issues are less of a big deal but certainly annoying enough to deter me from going to Walmart. 1.) They don't seem to have hand baskets anymore. I guess you need to use a shopping cart so you can buy more useless stuff. 2.) It's always a zoo here, on the weekend especially. It takes more time to check out than it does to actually get the items from around the store. This makes it so that I don't want to go here unless the deal is really good.

**Should have been free plus $0.06 overage, but the cashier insisted that store policy is not to give overages on coupons that exceed the value of the item. This also foiled my plan to use a $8/2 mfr coupon for Cover Girl to get 2 eyeshadows priced at $3.14 each (giving me $1.72 in overage). I didn't feel like arguing or getting the manager, just getting out of the store, so I just put those back and bought other things. I'll go back another day (with another cashier) to use the $8/2 coupon.
I have now learned how important it is to bring a print out of the store's coupon policy with me, just in case something like this happens.
